Nalah was brought to the shelter by a kind young girl who had been quietly watching over her for some time. She noticed this fluffy little cat living rough outside her apartment building, vulnerable and alone, and her heart broke when she saw neighborhood kids throwing things at her and harassing her. Looking closer, she realized just how much Nalah was struggling, an irritated, swollen eye, fur matted into thick clumps across her body, and sticky gum tangled into her coat from who knows how long spent fending for herself on the streets. Despite all of it, Nalah remained remarkably sweet and gentle, and the girl knew she couldn't simply walk away and leave her to suffer.

Once in our care, the vets worked tirelessly to try to save Nalah's injured eye, but despite every effort, the damage was too severe, and it ultimately had to be removed. Still, Nalah refused to let that slow her down for even a moment. She sailed through surgery like an absolute champion, recovering with a spirit and determination that amazed everyone who met her.

As she healed, something wonderful happened. Nalah found exactly what every homeless, hurting animal dreams of, a forever home filled with love with a beautiful family. Today, she is no longer wandering, no longer harassed, and no longer alone. She spends her days wrapped in comfort and care, and having only one eye hasn't slowed her down one bit. She climbs, plays, explores every corner of her new home, and curls up each night knowing, for the first time, that she is truly safe.
