Roxie was never given the opportunity to enjoy life as a happy dog, but we know that with the right amount of support and love, she can transform into a rockstar and show the world how bright she really shines!

Roxie's story is one of our more severe cases. She was found in a home living in extremely unsanitary conditions, with no access to clean water or food. Roxie herself was covered with hundreds of fleas and afflicted with painful infections and skin sores all over her body. Her legs had atrophied to the point where she faces significant difficulty with walking on her own. The sight was heart-wrenching, and our volunteer team took swift action in rescuing Roxie and bringing her to a veterinary hospital for medical care. We knew from the little twinkle in her sad but hopeful eyes that she was not ready to give up just yet—and we weren't either!

After Roxie was diagnosed and treated, she was transferred to our shelter, where she is making steps in recovery, little by little. She's truly a resilient and determined girl who will get back up no matter what! She is very gentle and sweet around people but needs guidance when it comes to interacting with other animals. It's clear that Roxie has never had the chance to live life as a blissful dog playing with others, or even indulging in treats and cuddles, but that's going to change from now on! There's a life of joy and adventures just waiting for Roxie, and we can't wait for her to see what it's like to sleep in a soft and fluffy bed in her future forever home! We know she'll be one very happy dog!

At the moment, tests are still being done to see if Roxie's struggle with walking is a neurological issue. We are looking for a home without flights of stairs to accommodate her.
