When we saw Sandy at the kill shelter, he immediately touched our hearts. He was this malnourished 4lbs dog that just looked so desperate. Sandy was a possible parvovirus case and we were warned that he must be quarantined for at least two weeks. But that didn’t scare us, and we decided to give him a second chance at life. The day after we pulled him, Sandy was rushed to Veterinary Emergency Group with an extreme case of pneumonia. After urgent treatments, IV and strong antibiotics, the poor pup was sent home. But that wasn’t the end of it, a couple of days later he became lethargic, he wasn’t eating or drinking, and so we rushed him back to the emergency hospital where doctors were barely able to stabilize him. After he finally felt better and it was confirmed that he doesn't have parvo, we've discovered that he has a mass in his lung. He's currently undergoing testing to determine if that's cancerous or not, but the little guy is not interested in giving up. There is a big warrior heart inside of a tiny body.
Sorry, but Sandy is currently pending an adoption by a forever home, so you can't apply for an adoption. Check back soon to see if the pet status changes!
