Pet ownership is a huge responsibility. Pets are living creatures completely dependent on us to meet their needs. Just like humans, sometimes they have health issues. It's heartbreaking that so many of our cases are owner surrenders that DO NOT want to pay for medical care of their adoring pets. Even worse are the cases of unnecessary euthanasia because the owner cannot or is unwilling to pay for their pets' needs. Butter's story is just that. Butters was a sweet, young pup with an ongoing health issue of recurring cysts on his skin that burst and required removal. Butters was very fortunate to be brought to a vet who recognized the tragedy of euthanizing an otherwise happy, healthy young dog. So the vet contacted us instead of euthanizing, and we jumped on board. Together, we could prevent the pointless tragedy and work hard to find a perfect forever family for the sweetest little boy. It took a few months, but eventually, the suitable someone came along and swiped Butters off his feet. It was the love from the first sight on both sides, and that made us extremely happy. Butters now has a home and a loving human who wouldn't discard him just because he's sick. Who will love and cherish him for the rest of his life. What else could we ask for? Enjoy the rest of your life, little Butters. We will always miss you!
