Koda was discovered in a box, weighing barely 14 pounds. Her body bore the scars of a difficult past, marked by evident fear as if she had probably suffered abuse. She was so weak that she couldn’t even move. We'd love to say we couldn't believe someone would do something like this to a poor dog, but sadly, nothing surprises us anymore. We accepted Koda under our care and rushed her to an emergency hospital. Once Koda was ready to be discharged from the hospital, one of our volunteers agreed to foster Koda just for a few days until we could find her a permanent placement. It was really heartbreaking to learn that Koda had no experience of walking outside. Everything terrified her. It became that much clearer that all of her life, she knew no kindness, no true companionship. Well, try to guess what happened next. The 'let's keep her for just three days' became Koda's forever home! Her foster family could not let her go after everything Koda's been through. This is what we call a happily ever after! Enjoy the rest of your life, little Koda. We will always miss you.
