In the dead of winter, Petey was found alone on the streets, suffering from a severe leg injury so painful he could barely walk. We still don't know exactly what happened to him but we knew one thing for certain: he needed urgent care to save that leg, and he needed it fast.

Thankfully, one kind person refused to look away. They brought Petey home, reached out to us for help, and then did something extraordinary, they fostered him through every medical appointment, every surgery, and every difficult month of recovery that followed. With the support of 1510 Foundation and so many generous donors, this brave little dog kept fighting, never losing his spirit even on the hardest days.

Somewhere along the way, Petey became Poppa and his foster family realized they couldn't imagine life without him. What started as a foster placement turned into forever. Today, Poppa is pain-free, fully recovered, and spoiled rotten by a big, loving family who will never let him feel unwanted again. After everything he endured, he's finally living the joyful, pain-free life every dog deserves.
