Big Boy’s journey began with an urgent rescue. He was facing euthanasia at another shelter after being diagnosed with heartworm, but we knew his story could not end there.

His treatment would be long and intensive, requiring patience, careful monitoring, and a safe place to recover. We were incredibly fortunate to have several amazing fosters support him along the way, including one of our own volunteers, who cared for him during his earliest days with us.

Eventually, Big Boy arrived at the foster home that would change his life forever. His family shared that he fit in beautifully with everyone and that they had completely fallen in love with his sweet, gentle personality.

They decided to make him a permanent member of the family, and Big Boy is now enjoying the comfortable, luxurious life he always deserved. Based on his photos, his retirement appears to consist mostly of very serious napping!
