Misty’s story began under heartbreaking circumstances. She was only a few weeks old when she arrived at our shelter with her leg caught in a rat trap.

Our veterinary team worked tirelessly to save her leg, but ultimately, amputation was the only option that would save her life. Misty began her new life as a tripod kitten, and from the very beginning, she proved that she was a fighter.

Thanks to the love and dedication of her foster families, Misty recovered beautifully. Along the way, one of her fosters fell completely in love with her and decided that she belonged with him forever.

Today, Misty is the light of her adopter’s life. She runs, climbs, plays, and explores every corner of her home, never letting her missing leg hold her back.

Misty’s journey is a beautiful reminder that a difficult beginning does not have to determine the rest of the story.
